2013-03-14 // 22:19:05 jcoldslabs For a moment I thought this was a landscape with hills and valleys, but then I realized what it really was. I love ambiguity in photographs. (Or maybe it's just my poor vision?)
Excellent work!

Hills and valleys... Well to be honest and no matter how hard I try, I just can't see such things here. But I was there, that must be why...
(and I would have rather thought of a rich imagination, instead of a poor vision...)
I think that ambiguity is often obtained when trying to shoot human beings with a pinhole under normal lighting conditions. When it doesn't shift toward complete abstraction...
Thanks !
2013-03-14 // 11:38:55 g. It took me a while to get what I see. That is something I like about Polaroids (if then a world opens, like it is the case here).
I got myself a nice pencil (the ones like a ballpen where you can refill the very thin lead), and a black liner with a very thin tip. Both have a clip, so I can easily carry them around with me.
As for me, I think the main reason I don't do it is that I simply forget about it. Or, in that moments, I am simply overwhelmed by the pictures.
Since I have them, I got better. It helps to have pens one likes to write with.
(another reason of course could be, that one hesitates to write something on the clear white border.. Such, I simply write my notes on the back. I still can write on the front later ;)
The pencil, btw., works very well on the black rear of the polaroid integrals. And whenever it is possible to use a pencil, I use it. Also, for archival reasons, as they'd never harm the emulsion).

Thanks for your kind comment (a world opens, wow...).
I usually have a pencil in my jacket, when I have a jacket. And I usually have one in my photo bags, mainly to note the exposure info on b&w films. So there is no practical reason why I don't use them on polaroids.
Overwhelmed by the pictures ? Maybe. The white borders ? No way. As for the back, I always wonder whether it could harm the emulsion on the other side, after a very long time.
You seem sure that it can't.
So I'll try to get better...
Thanks again !
