Thanks! What's funny is I don't even remember there being a Polaroid camera in the store where I worked, but I know I was the one to take this image. I guess in the panic and chaos some memories get lost....but at least I have the image.
I was thinking: if someone had told me back then that Polaroid would go out of business but that I would end up scanning this image 25 years later and publishing it on Polanoid,net and that it would win this thing called SotD I would have thought they were nuts!

Ah, well, being a stickler for privacy I did not put my real birth date in my profile, so I was actually 17 at the time.
I was working on the wharf when a nearby museum caught fire. I grabbed the cash drawer and a Polaroid camera that was in the store as well and ran out. It could have been Time Zero film, that part I can't remember. I'm just amazed that I had the presence of mind to stop and take this shot at all. No one was hurt, if I recall correctly. Lots of damage to the museum and the wharf, though.
