I know the feeling but I don't know the cause.
If you're comfortable with the condition of your bellows try this: When you open the camera drop the bed like you would to use a wide angle lens. Pull out the bellows and return the bed to the open position then put the bellows on the front of the rails and secure them. It'll give you a bit more extention,

Interesting choice of lens. I have two Plaubel Tele Peconars and one Dallmeyer Adon and have the same trouble with the limits of the Speed Graphic. I had a Graflex View that had a 14 inch rail but have since sold it. I found some cheap extention tubes that give me about three more inches but at that distance it seems the lenses are only good for things that aren't moving.

^ I've seen the Adon--I think the Gundlach is similar but not of the same quality. Never heard of the Plaubel lens. I've thought about making a "top hat" extension for the Speed Graphic but it seems like too much trouble. I have a couple of B&L projection lenses (one 4.25" and one 6.5") that are basically Petzval designs and just about cover 4x5. To be honest I have way too many lenses and should cut back, but I keep buying more. What's wrong with me?
