Fontinalis
Looooooooove the contrast between the crispness of the land and the trees, the horizon, solid, heavy, poignant VS the blurriness of the sky and clouds, the weightlessness of that that is moving. As thought in the same image we are given - at the same time - the stillness AND the evanescence of time, memory, etc. An image that has two inner speeds. (clumsily said, sorry for my English). I'm just blown away by this picture. Now and then photography achieves achingly beautiful poetry. And this is the case. Hats off to you Peter.

not at all clumsily, poetry to my winterchilled soul...
thanks yet again Fontinalis!

this photo can remind me so much of the fast clouds we can have in Sweden sometimes and especially on this part of the country!
even if you said you opened the shutter 3 to 4 min! you still give us the effect that it was just a couple of sec!

wonderfull!! looking forward to see all that in Göteborg very soon!!!

^
thanks! looking forward to meeting you...

haha, i was close to say something like shut up as well :-D
but once started to talk (mostly i just silently vote, certain images just don't need much words. or bring me in a state of calmness and silence which i don't want to stop either) - i take this occasion now: so this was a long exposure? do you remember for how long? and if the clouds were moving recognizable fast?
I like the contrast to the horizon, and how this gives a consciousness of time in all its dimensions.

(little critic: this is toned in ai - i say ai -artificial intelligence- instead of ps, though most use ps, but i don't like brands or monopols, and some, well, just use something else - no? i am not sure that's why i ask. but i think a traditionally toned print would have kept the typical polaroid neg-stripe on top in black, or? it's not meant as something against how one achieves something. am glad i don't have to ruin my eyes and nose anymore in the darkroom myself. but know it. and just stumbled about. little distraction that enters my joy. if i'm right at all. could be as well i'm not, and than i would like to learn from you as well so i won't have this distraction again)

Hi g.
first things first: thanks for what has to be longest comment i´ve got on any picture...
and now to "long exposure"; yes it was, think it was somewhere in the region of 3-5 minutes, and hmmm, don´t remember if the clouds were moving fast, not spectaculary fast anyway. the contrast to the horizon was what caught my eye. thanks for noticing...

and now: the critic.
yes it is ai. my darkroom days are over. although i still really love the "real" darkroom prints (yes, i think even moore than ai), i also love pigment prints if done on paper of my liking. I´ve printed my exhibition (sorry, here comes some branding) on hahnemuhles photo rag satin, which i think is to die for on BW prints. and i print them with a printer which have the numbers 3800 in it´s model name, and i also use the colorburst rip, which i love (exept for its price, that is) cos it has made my printing life so much easier...
but i have to admit that i really miss the toning from the darkroom days. to much control in ai, too easy too just "throw on some colour and it´s done" in the digital world. but as you say: nice for your health...

there you go, by far my longest answer... have a good nights sleep.

the best
/Peter
