2009-01-26 // 02:56:52 Fontinalis When I look at a polaroid like this one (and many others you have taken), a part of me has a hard time keeping in mind that this is a recent picture. Because it has the look and feel of a very old picture that we may have just found in an old suitcase, or in an attic. A picture that belongs to a distant past. I find that it is a unique quality of certain polaroids, and polaroid transfers, where happens a sort of acceleration of time, putting an image with which we are familiar, through a process of hastened ageing. An aesthetic of nostalgia. 'Night on earth' is really beautiful, including, or maybe because of its dirtiness, smudges, blurs and all. Although it is a similar shot then Skye blue sky, the mood is different. (sorry for my ramblings here!)

no problem at all with the ramblings... and i agree totally with the "aesthetic of nostalgia".
thanks again.
