I like this whole series. I love this whole series. I personally enjoy these a lot more than the SX-70 shots, not that it matters. (I have my meteorological reasons for this preference; I like being able to see exactly what the weather was like.) This one in particular gives me a chill.

And I suddenly remembered something we chatted about a long time ago, before you knew what a louse I was and before I knew what a louse you were, and so I went looking for it and here it is »link and so let me tip my cap because once again you succeeded in squeezing the essence of Polaroid out of your camera.

Louse is too strong a word. Mite more like.
I think i like the SX70 shots for reasons of nostalgia, and i'm getting a taste too late for it, but in terms of process these win hands down. The beautiful plastic lump, the silly bellows, the disjointed guesstimates of exposure, conversation interrupted timings and then those sticky wastes.... I really think the demise of polaroid has made everyone here better photographers. The only problem is it has made many of them worse people.

this was my favourite of the day. i hope it really captures that determined march to the sea through eyes fixated on the sea.
