Radlov these images are so striking, I love their faces. Very soulful and proud. The young men and women who fought and died to save Mother Russia had beautiful, strong faces like these. For so long, children like these, fought the Nazis with little help from the West, and in so doing, also shed their blood for the rest of the European nations.
In tacking on this series, it has become obvious that you have a caring sensitivity for the people in these portraits. You have the wonderful ability to sense what they must be feeling. This must have taken a lot of work. But the work speaks for itself Radlov.

For me the photo of these girls and the boy look like it was taken early in summer of 1941, when nobody knew that the war will last 4 long years and will cost about 30 million of lifes of Soviet people. These youngsters look proud that they are adult enough to join the Red Army to protect their land. They haven't faced the real side of the war with its blood and the dirt, so they look happy yet...
