acid free paper is better for emulsion or image transfers because of the delicate nature of them...if you want them to last through the years, it will help preserve them so they look just as fresh as they look now. if you use papers that have acid in them, such as notebook paper, your emulsion will get discolored and/or brittle/fragile. if you venture to an art supply shop, they will know which papers are acid-free, usually fine art papers and printmaking papers which come in a variety of textures and shades...i have done some of mine on sheet music paper, and treated it to a protective coat of UV spray to try and balance out the effects of the acidity. i suppose i want to preserve mine even more now because of the halt of the film production...
