this is just so beautiful, so perfect. the mood the light....I just love it...is it the light of a lamp that comes through the tree or the moon?
^
Its from the lamp on the side, they were very orange so I'm pleased they came out so white. Thank you. You've been very quiet for a while who is everything with you?

Hi Hugh. Congrats! Yes I know Rut Blees work. Her images are interesting but I don't like the post=modern explanations or titles that accompany them. They force a reading of the images that is too specific. I'll let you know when the web site is up.
^
ooops, I've been looking at her work for a while, and for some reason had got it into my head she was a he! i also have to confess that I have only viewed her work on an aesthetic level, so have probably glanced the surface. On an aesthetic level I do get a great amount of pleasure from them

This is so great. I used to live around the corner from here (springvalley terrace), and I used to park on this street occasionally. it was a right 'mare to find a space i remember. This makes me proper homesick...
^
Well you can park everywhere now, thanks to the councils crazy new parking scheme! I also live just up the road from here on Greenhill Terrace, I always walk past this road when I'm going for a walk to Carlton Hill, Glad it brings back memories even though there sad, Winds gone around again so we have a good fresh smell from the Brewery! Although they have pulled down most of the brewery at fountain park, and are building flats. Edinburgh like most places is changing fast.

Presently working on a web site. A few images on ZoneZero.com from a couple ofyears back. Try Google image search and Pete Massingham. Nice to make contact with you.
^
Just had a look on zonezero, great set of images, Are you familiar with Rut Blees Luxemburg? he has some beautiful night shots. Looking forward to your website, send me a link when its finished.

Hello Hugh, Interesting to see some Brit night works! I am very keen on working at this time and really identified with this. Unfortunately don't shoot Poli for this work myself - scan from neg, print and exhibit. Is there more of your work of this kind anywhere else? V
^
Its a great time to shoot, I used to shoot a lot on film, at this time of day but most of the negs are in a huge box, and not printed. I am going back to film again for a landscape project.
I haven't shown work anywhere else but should start to think about it. I would be interested to see some of your other work as well, Have you more elsewhere on the net? Thanks for the comment :0)

btw, bellows - starting to scheimpflug (just top down = nod? tilt? oh these words..) the littman a bit. fun, but real wierd and try and error without a tripod. but tripods make me to unmoveable ;-)
ha, we both there is another man, for swing and uhlala...hehe

^
see tripods for me are great as I wonder around a bit wait a while think of something else and the cameras still there, but a bit more movement would be great, this lens covers the full extent on this camera, and i'd love to try for more, but more movement is more weight, the one for swing went on ebay the other day but £1400 is too much for me

true. the white borders. though not as white as on 79, but always depends on the pic.
zeiss, nice.
and 135 still is a slight wideangle :-) 150 starting as normal.

^
150 gives a nicer depth of field as well, especially @4.5, I have the schneider 135mm, so close focus is mostly on that. The 150 does weigh a ton though, nearly as much as the camera, its the shutter, a marvel of springs and levers, made to last the 100 years

2007-05-11 // 18:45:09
g.
which lens, sir?
love the blue (sky) against the leafs, the focus and the framing. tripod, hmmm. but if the lamps are orange, i'd say you should give it a try with magic "seven-of-nine" also ;-)
(why did you crop that much of the sides, the emerging..?)

^
I just asked the same question on one of yours! the lens is »link Its uncoated, and can't wait to try it more. I cropped the sides just down of the white tabs as i find them quite distracting. It was a hard decision though
^
oops that link works well, quite funny though. its a150mm tessar in a compur, I'll try and find a different picture
^
The closest picture, »link its 150mm f4.5, I was initially worried about the close focus as don't have a great amount on the bellows, but its still not bad

Amazing Hugh, this is now my new desktop background. Thanks! Now I'll sit and gaze into the long, bending, road the whole day. Better than out the window, maybe?
^
A real compliment. I have got scans done, of those other shots, just retouching dust and they'll be on the way. Hope the view from your windows good, still sunny? :))

Ooh you can be the grand owner of my first comment. I love the lighting in this. I have a thing about roads leading off into the distance, always makes me think 'where's that going? is it somwhere lovely?'
^
What an honor! welcome to polanoid, I've been wanting to take this picture for about a year but there is normally cars here, thanks to Edinburgh's new "you can't park anywhere" scheme I got my picture! It doesn't lead anywhere particularly, but if you carry on in the same direction you get to J.K. Rowling's house

super nice. really like the colors as well as the composition.
my v for the day

Thank you,
Its funny how he colours came out as the lights were really orange as thet'd just come on, but this film goes blue on long exposures, so I got lucky!
