Some of these pictures have the quality of the wonderful pictorialist photographers of the late 19th and early 20th Century. Like early Steiglitz, or Gertrude Kasebier, Annie Brigman, etc. Infused with a kind of melancholic nostalgia and almost tactile in their intimacy. A beautiful sadness. V

Did you take a look at the other pictures?? The cat-pictures? Did you see how sharp and crisp they are? This is a 100ASA film and has no grain.
What you are referring to is a very special texture, almost like reams, streaks and striae, very beautiful :-) but it does not do anything to the picture, it adds to it, is like a layer above the untouched sharp pic.
