Two and a half months later I'm back yet again to look at this. I still love it. What did you think of the play?
^
I've been horrendously slack and is sat on my bookshelf gathering dust along with hundreds of other books, plays etc that i really need to read, i get too easily distracted, my current obsession is lens technology, and i seem to spend all my spare time reading things which lets face it are very boring and nearly completely useless! thank you for returning to this picture, I'm probably going to run out of space so going to leave the rest of this in your guestbook

Hmm. I read my comment again and I come off quite pretentious don't I? Sorry about that. Anyway, in Chekhovs "The Cherry Orchard" there's this images that has stuck with me since I read the play a couple of years ago. The play is set in the beginning of the 20th century and Chekhov uses, among other things, telephone lines/poles as a symbol for the future/modernity. He paints this image of telephone poles reaching through the rural landscape, which I, together with this pola, find beautiful.

Ok, I'll stop my rambling now.

Not prentious at all, I like recieving comments like that as it makes me broaden my horizons, i found a copy of the play so was going to read it, but the explanation also helps! thanks for both comments, i'll let you know what i think of the play

This reminds me of Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard", for some reason.

I'm afraid i'll have to show my ignorance and go and do some research
