René Birkner is one of the last painters of cinema posters. Only two cinemas in Munich, the Sendlinger Tor film theater and the Munich City Cinemas, commission their cinema advertising from him. They are huge images - several square meters in size - and they are different from the usual printed posters.
His hand-painted posters often have their own atmosphere and I discover details that, for me, show the essence of the film. I try to capture these details in my Polaroids.

This poster hangs in one of the cinema halls of the City Cinema in Munich. That's why the colors are not realistic. I used a Polaroid Color 600 round frame and did an emulsion lift on the image. Interesting colors...
