There is Nothing Like a Likeness
Testing the new black and white Impossible film under "Impossible" conditions and thinking about the Koran quote about the impossibility of making a likeness of Allah: "There is nothing like a likeness of Him".
It seems to me that it's barely possible to create a perfect likeness of a human being, let alone an invisible god, without necessarily projecting very much of yourself into it. Perhaps portraits - all portraits - really are quite dangerous things.
