Ormond Point
A cloudy-blue sky at Ormond Point hill at Elwood beach.
* I would like to thank Kalle for his most flattering insightful & interesting analysis of this shot:
"You have taken the usual landscape vernacular- the garden path- and added a bit of dream to it... a bit of dali. it all works with absolute perfection. everything draws you up. the path leads up but ends. the posts lead up but are anchored to the earth and to eachother. Even the clouds lead up and yawn as though waiting for us to solve this delima of getting betond our grounding. then we reach the top of the hill where its like this man, one who we never meet, has built this structure in defiance of our lock to the earth. to the interupted perspective. He wants to get above it all and see. white and shimmering against the blue, white light, it stands as a statement. Of human nature. of human possibility.

but the kicker... is the inrtoduction of the bird, how he lofts by, free from all attactchment, and able to reach higher, effortlessly and with grace. That against the bulky, heavy consturction of this manmade structure is just so ironic and makes it all seem futile. We cannot help but laugh at our efforts for trying. Its a photograph to be proud of. I absolute love it for all its message."
