So my 101 is fixed! I got a quote to get it fixed which was $60. The camera only cost me $30, so I figured I'd try and repair it myself. I went back to my parents place on the weekend, and my Dad and I attempted to re-solder the wiring. And what'ya know, we fixed it! Obviously this would of been a bit better if I used a tripod, but we can't be too picky now can we.
My 101 lives on...
