I was **working** in Berlin for a fair last february and I spent the nights drinking beer and taking photobooth pics (I took 23 strips)
you can see some attempts of using handwritten papers...
With such a strong flash the papers were coming out all blank. I had to cever the 2 flashes 1 with a piece of paper, the lower one with my foot
