Sliced open, gently washed with kitchen roll and roughly jabbed with a thick brush (all under a running tap), underlaid with a painted piece of watercolour paper, glued back together.
This was exceptionally difficult to scan right. The colours of the original are somehow subtler and more harmonious than this and they have a sort of chalky look to them, like pastels on dove-coloured paper.
