Up the Street
Not too far from my house, but far enough that I had to drive there with my large format gear. A lady came out of her house when I was setting up and asked rather sternly, "What are you DOING?" Then a young couple walked past and asked if I worked for Google (presumably for the "street view" thing.)
My guess is a large camera on a tripod is getting more and more rare and you can't assume people will "get it." Funny.
